6. Jötnar’s Absence

It has been weeks since I first found Jötnar’s castle empty. His absence makes my surveying of the Realm more difficult than I had hoped. I fear not for his safety, so long as he does not venture too far to the south. I am merely surprised at the length of his leave.

While I wait, I have focused a significant amount of energy on my own dwelling. I have doubled the size of the hearth and annexed an enormous dining hall large enough to accommodate the Giant’s massive frame. The mountain rock was too jagged and misshapen for a proper hearth, so I found a cache of smooth stones far to the northeast by the sea. They hold heat much better, and I feel the structure is much more sound than before (I used several hundred to reinforce the foundation as well).

I used the remainder of the great Maple from Niaafjäll’s doors to buttress the dining hall’s ceiling and to create a great arch for its entrance. I look forward to hosting my friend the Giant when he returns.
